ABOUT WOODFORD
Woodford Primary School has a long standing culture of outstanding students and supportive families. Our school is one of the oldest in Victoria, with the original sandstone building now the office/administration building. Since 2001 the school has had three major building projects, to now have a variety of modern learning environments.
Our current fundraising project is for a covered space over the basketball court/asphalt area including associated storage and a stage/performance area. Our parent’c club has actively raised almost $150,000 to see the project completed in the near future.
The staff includes the principal and a mix of 15 full time and part-time teachers and Educational Support Staff (ESS). Our Music teacher imparts a passion for Performing Arts into the school and community, culminating in our annual whole school performance to sell out crowds at the Lighthouse Theatre in Warrnambool. Other specialist programs include Physical Education, Art and Science.

At Woodford Primary School we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. This is our core values of respect, responsibility and participation as well as our whole school commitment to building a supportive and inclusion learning community.
All students enrolled at Woodford Primary School have the right to feel safe and be safe. The wellbeing of children in our care will always be our first priority and we do not and will not tolerate child abuse. We aim to create a child-safe and child-friendly environment where children are free to enjoy life to the full without any concern for their safety. There is particular attention paid to the most vulnerable children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with a disability.
In recent years we have explicitly focused on improving the Growth Mindset of our students. We actively challenge our students to have a go and possibly fail at times – but ensure we all learn from our experiences.
Woodford Primary School implements a whole school approach to using the Zones of Regulation for staff, students and parents.
